6 Easy Tips for Promoters Using Facebook

For small and large venues , promoters see Facebook as must-have tool in their tackle box. How can Facebook give a boost to your next party you ask?
Read on for some pro tips for your events.
1. Login and Get Inspired
Looking for some creative inspiration? Facebook is a good place to start, look at some major brands, clubs for starters. Everyone from Real Estate agents to Vegas MegaClubs are getting in on the social promotion scene on Facebook.
2. Stay in Touch
During the party planning process, promoters often need share information with several people without it getting out to the public. A “closed” or “secret” Facebook Group can be more collaborative and interactive than countless emails going back and forth. Plus everyone can login from anywhere and see the entire stream of back and forth discussion between the group. As the promoter, use this space to share ideas, ask for feedback or delegate tasks to your team. Selling tickets? Ask your team to share what approach they’ve found that works for them and also what hasn’t been working. The goal is to minimize errors and not waste time. Looking for sponsors? Throw it out to the group to see if someone can facilitate an introduction.
3. Line Down the Block
Including social sharing options at the point of a purchase is very helpful, however, promoters may find more value by following Eventbrite’s step-by-step guide to creating a Facebook event that syncs up with Eventbrite’s ticket-selling platform. Friends and contacts can view event details on Facebook and then register by clicking on the event link, which takes them back to the original Eventbrite page.
4. Added Value for Sponsors
Offering Facebook recognition as an additional perk for sponsors. A few ideas:
- Create an album to feature sponsor logos
- Tag status updates to show appreciation to sponsors and help them expand their Facebook community
- Invite sponsors to write a “guest note” on the organization’s Facebook page
- Post a video interview about why sponsors support the event
- Share sponsors’ relevant updates/news on the organization’s Facebook page
- Promoter their business/ Company specials or new product on your Facebook Landing page
- Use HootSuite to help manage this campaign for you.
- Promoter sponsors locations and URL’s on your news feed and landing pages.
5. Keep it Live
Think of it as live streaming. Show everyone what they are missing. Post photos, news updates, pass out drink tickets to people who comment on the event while at it. There are tons of ideas here to exploit and make everyone sorry they didn’t show up. And if they did attend, you left a trail of memories for your visitors to forward on later. Which leads to point 6.
6. Post-Event Follow-Up
Upload photos, music, video in the 2 to 3 days following the event. Space it out! Make sure to keep them engaged but don’t bombard them all at once. One to two updates a day after the event for two to three days, will give you much more reach as well as penetration on the news feed. So be patient and smart about adding your post-event content.
